OMG. Fanfic can be bad for your health! I've had food poisoning or stomach flu or something since Tuesday. Bad. Been living on ginger ale & bits of bland tofu 'n rice, barely keeping it down. Worse. Reading fic to distract me from my stomach should have been a good idea, right? Alas, no. I just read a fic that mentions Kirk trying gagh and puking the STILL LIVING worms right back up. I barely made it to the bathroom in time. Ugh. That was so not good. Stupid Kirk.

So. Star Trek seems to have eaten my fangirly brain (again). Which is actually a good thing, I think, as I seriously need some distracting from current events. Whee?

Ah, whatever. Back to trolling for fic. And maybe some more fanmixes. Ta.

Ok, so I just broke and bought a ticket to the 9:30 showing of Star Trek @ the Navy Pier IMAX. Yeah, I'm weak. Shut up. ^_^

Hm. Star Trek is only playing at my IMAX through this Thursday. Would it be very wrong for me to go see it again? It'd be the 4th time (but only the 2nd on an IMAX screen). I don't think I can con anyone into seeing it with me again (I miss my movie buddy, freakykat!). What to do, what to do?

I *think* it's working on uploading all my stuff from LJ. I dunno if I'll really use dreamwidth all that much; I hardly ever even post on LJ. But who knows what the future may bring? ^_^

Woo! I just got back from my lunch - a 30+ min walk in the rain. I totally LOVE the rain. It makes everything look so vibrant & smell so good. Mmm. The combo of rain, walking, nature, and the dearth of people outside makes for an energized, yet soothed, Angel. ^_^

Heh, when I said I was going out, my manager was horrified. Sheesh. I'm not that kind of witch; I won't melt. I don't know what the big deal was. I had my waterproof rain jacket & an umbrella, and it's upper 50's to low 60's. The severe storm warning doesn't kick in for almost 5 hours. Why are people so wussy about getting a little wet?

So. Sometimes, what "live long and prosper" really means is "fuck you". Who knew? ^_^ My love for Spock is all consuming.

!!! Just got back from watching Star Trek & I desperately want to babble on about...oh, EVERYTHING. But none of my friends & fam have seen it yet & I'm not supposed to spoil.

Augh. I have just realized that I lost a great deal of my fave old fic when my PC died & I switched over to my laptop. My backup copy is faulty; SOME things are there, but many aren't. Woe. And most of what I'm looking for is now gone from the net & thus irreplaceable. Remember jedimom's "Hell" series from the Sith Academy days? Or Mistful's "Quality of Mercy"? And many many more. I think I may cry.

Hi. My name is Angel, and I'm a Facebook-aholic. I don't know how this happened. /o\ And then when you add in ancestry & ravelry (not to mention all the RL time spent actually researching & knitting & playing games), well...I guess that explains where all my free time has been disappearing to. *pokes the poor, neglected LJ account* Hee! Man, I have really got to get an non-sedentary hobby.

I love The Middleman. LoveloveLOVE it! Except for the part that it's been canceled since before I even managed to discover it. Woe. Ah well, Leverage is proving to be rather awesome as well, and it's still going strong. (I hope.) ^_^

Hm. I feel the need for a new (to me) show/fandom. But which to choose? I just saw Push & I rather liked the characters. I'd love to read some good fic, but hey it just opened a few days ago, so there's really not much to be found. Maybe TV? I've heard amusing things about a few shows: Middleman, Leverage, Primeval, etc... I dunno. Maybe I'll try to watch their pilots or something. Heh, I seem to be out of the LJ swing of things. Ravelry, facebook, & RL drama have really been cutting into my fandom time, darnit! What to do, what to do?

Disney is making another Witch Mountain movie? And it's an action film!?!? WHY. What's next? The Cat From Outerspace as a horror film?

Hm... I'm going to see Twilight tomorrow with acidwit. I haven't read the books & I know next to nothing about the series/fandom. There are vampires, and I think, werewolves? And it's some sort of a star-crossed love story (triangle?) between an Edward & a Bella. That's all I got.

So. Kinda at loose ends here. I got the 1st & 4th (don't ask) books out from the library today. Should I read the 1st book tonight? Or should I wait till after the movie (assuming I enjoy it)? Will I like the movie? Vampires are my favorite monster. But I've gotta say, from the little I've taken in from LJ & reviews & whatnot, reactions to the books/movie/fandom have been fairly skitzo (from my pov at least). So...*extreme*. From fascinated love to sneering derision. What's up with this fandom anyways?
