OK. So, I hardly ever watch TV. Oh, I watch a TON of shows, but very rarely live. I tend to download or just buy the boxed season DVD sets. And that works out well enough. But it means that I never really see commercials & I'm often behind on things. Then add in the fact that I don't DO reality TV. If I want reality? I go outside. Which means I've never seen American Idol & have no real clue who most of the AI people are or what they do.

But. This has now changed. Goddamnit. freakykat's been gleefully filling my head w/ the shiny that is Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, & few others whose names temporarily escape me. Whee! But I'm still not gonna watch the show. I think.

Ugh. I have SO MANY REALLY FUN THINGS lined up for this weekend (not my usual hermit-y norm at all):

Knitting meetup group's guided tour of Lorna's Laces (yaaaarn!)
Muppets History film @ the Gene Siskel Film Center
Fine Art of Fiber show @ the Chicago Botanic Garden (quilts! knitting!)
Arsenic & Old Lace play @ NU (the run ends this weekend)
Museum meetup group's visit to both the Smart Museum of Art & the OI (never been to either)
A co-worker's band has a gig Sunday evening

And I'm supposed to hang out with my favorite little auntie one day & my mom the next. I've really been looking forward to most of these events. But. I've been fighting with a cold for the past few days (not all that successfully) & I feel like total crap. Energy level: zombie-ish. But tickets have already been bought, RSVP's submitted, & this is the last &/or only date(s) for these events. How am I gonna do all this?

So I *finally* got areound to watching Zombieland last night. OMG! I totally loved it! I haven't laughed so hard (w/ occasional flinching) in a goodly long time. Whee!

Noooo! I somehow lost my brain & forgot that Castle was on tonight! Fuck.

Whoo! Back home from my roadtrip just in time to see the White Collar premier. I hope it's actually as fun as I've heard! ^_^

OK. I've just marathoned my way through the first third of Avatar. My verdict? SOLD!!! I am so hooked, it isn't even funny.

So. Here's the thing. I don't want to be spoiled or anything, but... Well, this series isn't going to crush my heart at the end (or even in the middle), right? Right? Bueller?

It wouldn't stop me from watching or anything. I just like a bit of warning in advance of things that'll make me want to cry like a baby is all. ^_^

OK, OK, I give. It seems like I can't go anywhere on the net w/o tripping over yet another reference to this Avatar. So, I'm just going to take the hint & check out this series. It IS a cartoon series (& not a book or a movie), right? With, I'm gonna take a wild guess here, elemental characters? Having adventures & fighting the good fight & all that jazz? Not knowing what everyone is talking about is driving me nuts. I'm so weak. But I just HAVE to know what the hell all this fuss is about. ^_^

OMG. Fanfic can be bad for your health! I've had food poisoning or stomach flu or something since Tuesday. Bad. Been living on ginger ale & bits of bland tofu 'n rice, barely keeping it down. Worse. Reading fic to distract me from my stomach should have been a good idea, right? Alas, no. I just read a fic that mentions Kirk trying gagh and puking the STILL LIVING worms right back up. I barely made it to the bathroom in time. Ugh. That was so not good. Stupid Kirk.

So. Star Trek seems to have eaten my fangirly brain (again). Which is actually a good thing, I think, as I seriously need some distracting from current events. Whee?

Ah, whatever. Back to trolling for fic. And maybe some more fanmixes. Ta.

Ok, so I just broke and bought a ticket to the 9:30 showing of Star Trek @ the Navy Pier IMAX. Yeah, I'm weak. Shut up. ^_^

Hm. Star Trek is only playing at my IMAX through this Thursday. Would it be very wrong for me to go see it again? It'd be the 4th time (but only the 2nd on an IMAX screen). I don't think I can con anyone into seeing it with me again (I miss my movie buddy, freakykat!). What to do, what to do?

I *think* it's working on uploading all my stuff from LJ. I dunno if I'll really use dreamwidth all that much; I hardly ever even post on LJ. But who knows what the future may bring? ^_^

Woo! I just got back from my lunch - a 30+ min walk in the rain. I totally LOVE the rain. It makes everything look so vibrant & smell so good. Mmm. The combo of rain, walking, nature, and the dearth of people outside makes for an energized, yet soothed, Angel. ^_^

Heh, when I said I was going out, my manager was horrified. Sheesh. I'm not that kind of witch; I won't melt. I don't know what the big deal was. I had my waterproof rain jacket & an umbrella, and it's upper 50's to low 60's. The severe storm warning doesn't kick in for almost 5 hours. Why are people so wussy about getting a little wet?

So. Sometimes, what "live long and prosper" really means is "fuck you". Who knew? ^_^ My love for Spock is all consuming.

Now, I need icons, fanfic, & fan babble - stat! C'mon, fandom...

!!! Just got back from watching Star Trek & I desperately want to babble on about...oh, EVERYTHING. But none of my friends & fam have seen it yet & I'm not supposed to spoil.

OK, I'm heading out to the Navy Pier Imax to see Star Trek. I hope it's be awesome. But hey, even if it disappoints, there should still be plenty o eye candy, right? ^_^

Augh. I have just realized that I lost a great deal of my fave old fic when my PC died & I switched over to my laptop. My backup copy is faulty; SOME things are there, but many aren't. Woe. And most of what I'm looking for is now gone from the net & thus irreplaceable. Remember jedimom's "Hell" series from the Sith Academy days? Or Mistful's "Quality of Mercy"? And many many more. I think I may cry.

Hee! I have just been salmoned for the very first time. I guess that's what I get for actually posting something, even if it *was* just shilling for dragon egg clicks. ^_^
